Rainbow Revival (baptism by cold water)

Rainbow Revival (baptism by cold water)

(Where the river paints in copper and gold)
Every angler knows that first plunge — that cold-water shock that wakes the soul. For Woolbert, that’s the start of every Rainbow Revival. On the White River, the rainbows glow with copper fire, flickering between sunlight and myth.

Each one feels like a small miracle, a reminder that nature’s palette out-paints any artist’s brush. When Woolbert cradles a rainbow in his hands, it’s not just a catch — it’s communion. A baptism by cold water that renews everything he loves about the chase.

That’s the heart of Woolly Hookers Fly Co. — the laughter, the reverence, and the wild, unfiltered joy of being part of the current instead of fighting it.

Artist’s Note: This piece honors those Arkansas “Copper Johns” — the rainbow trout whose burnished tones stop you mid-cast. I wanted this design to capture the sacred simplicity of those moments when art and river meet — that spiritual jolt you feel releasing a vividly copper'd rainbow back to the flow.
